2nd league - Top match: Hertha at HSV on Saturday evening
Hertha BSC opens its 2. Bundesliga season on a Saturday afternoon. According to the German Football League's announcement, the kick-off against SC Paderborn is scheduled for 3rd August at 13:00 hours in Berlin's Olympiastadion. One week later, the top game against Hamburger SV will take place on 10th August at 20:30 hours.
The 2. Bundesliga teams start three weeks earlier than the Bundesliga teams in the new season. Hertha, with new coach Cristian Fiel, is aiming for promotion. Financially, the financially struggling old lady can barely afford to stay in the 2. Liga for another few years.
Before the start of the season, the team will be training from 18th to 27th July in the Austrian Walchsee for a training camp.
