During the 2021 floods, the river reached a height of 4.50 meters. In normal circumstances, it barely carries 45cm of water. On Friday night, the municipality suggested approximately 1300 individuals to leave their homes as a safety measure. Most of them have found refuge with friends or family members. Only a tiny fraction of the population has chosen a shelter. To prevent any potential damage caused by overflowing waters, schools, kindergartens, and halls have been emptied. In the 14,000-inhabitant town, bridges have also been closed in anticipation.
