District Esslingen - Three police officers injured at disturbance event
At an event related to a handball tournament in Owen (district of Esslingen), three policemen and two attendees were injured. Two of the policemen were taken to a hospital for outpatient treatment, as the police announced today.
Security personnel had previously attempted to remove several people from the event area. The people became aggressive, so the Police had to intervene. The attendees also resisted the orders of the officers, as reported by the Police. One of them insulted the policemen.
To prevent further disturbances, the man was reportedly brought to the ground by the officers. During this, one officer received several blows to the head, causing him to fall to the ground. Another policewoman also reportedly received a blow to the head and fell to the ground. In the course of events, another policewoman was also slightly injured.
The immediate event area was eventually cleared. The Police have taken up investigations regarding this incident.
