Three officers fired weapons at an individual who was a daughter of Hamas's loss.

After around a month into the Gaza conflict, tension is also surging in the occupied West Bank. Regrettably, another violent incident with multiple fatalities has taken place there. Reports claim that one of the perpetrators was also slain.

In what appears to be a Palestinian assault, three Israeli police officers lost their lives, as per the police announcement. A lesser-known militant group known as the Khalil al-Rahman Brigade declared responsibility for the attack. This incident occurred along a road in southern West Bank.

According to the Israeli military, the attackers opened fire on a vehicle carrying the three officers at a military checkpoint. Subsequently, security forces combed the southern West Bank to locate the attackers. In Hebron, soldiers encircled a house where it was reported that the primary suspect was hiding. "A terrorist was neutralized on the spot," the statement affirmed.

The unfortunate victims were two men and a woman. One of the officers hailed from Sderot, which is near the Gaza Strip border, as the police disclosed. Tragically, his daughter, also a police officer, was slain by Hamas extremists on October 7 when they attempted to take over the Sderot police station.

Army: Goal is to curb Hamas and IS

Israel initiated a military operation in northern West Bank on Wednesday, citing a notable surge in attacks on Israelis. The objective is to concentrate on Hamas and the Islamic Jihad. In recent times, Israel has carried out extensive raids in refugee camps located in the northern part of the area, where Israeli forces have been involved in almost daily gunfights with extremists since the onset of the Gaza conflict.

Since the Gaza conflict started following the Hamas atrocity on October 7, 2023, 648 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli military actions, clashes, or their own attacks in the West Bank, as mentioned by the health ministry. Most were associates of militant groups engaged in exchanges of fire with Israeli soldiers, but bystanders also suffered casualties.

The investigation into the aforementioned attack in the West Bank is being handled by The Commission, as stated in the official communique. In response to the surge of violence, The Commission has pledged to intensify its efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
