Three minors are accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in France.
In the heart of Paris, a harrowing incident unfolds: A young girl aged 12 is claimed to have been violated by several boys. Beyond the assault, she's been threatened with death and subjected to vile antisemitic slurs. Reports suggest that her religious beliefs may have been the motive behind this attack.
After an apparent antisemitic rape incident in Paris, French law enforcement has detained three boys, aged between 12 and 13 years old. The alleged attack occurred over the weekend in the northwestern suburb of Courbevoie, according to authorities.
The victim, as per her own account, was in a local park with a friend when they were forcibly dragged into a storage shed by three boys. During the assault, she was faced with deadly threats and derogatory antisemitic remarks, further details disclosed. Her friend managed to identify two of the attackers, leading to their arrest on a Monday.
As per the French newspaper "Le Figaro," the investigation encompasses charges of rape, coercion, attempted blackmail, invasion of privacy, and death threats. Further offenses of "violence and insults" are also being probed. These crimes are being "enhanced due to the religious association of the victim," the prosecutor's office clarified. Reports indicate one of the perpetrators called the girl a "filthy Jew," while another waved a lit match near her face, threatening to "singe" her.
Antisemitic crimes in France have skyrocketed since the radical Islamic Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7 and the commencement of the Gaza War. Over two months later, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin expressed concern over an "alarming increase" in antisemitic activities.
