Three individuals sustain gunshot wounds in Merseburg

At a gas station in Merseburg, Saxony-Anhalt, a disagreement turned violent and a man was stabbed with a sharp object. The perpetrator was swiftly apprehended. The forensic examination continued into the night.

Three individuals were hurt by gunfire in a commercial district in Merseburg, Saxony-Anhalt, one of them critically. As per the "Middle German Newspaper," the cops raided a house close to the crime scene and took a suspect into custody. A police spokesperson shared that the man was caught shortly following the shootings. Consequently, any additional risk to other people was deemed negligible.

As reported by the "Middle German Newspaper," the shootings took place at a gas station on the B181. Earlier, there was reportedly a heated exchange. The reasons are presently unclear. The police spokesperson added that there is no connection to the European Football Championship. Around 7:20 p.m., the emergency call was made.

The probing into the reasons behind the shooting in Merseburg-Meuschau is still underway. Criminal technicians gathered evidence. No further comments were made at that time, as per a late-evening police statement.
