RAF-Investigations - Thousands of assets of ex-RAF terrorist Klette secured
Investigators secured several thousand items including weapons, ammunition, and money at the apartment of former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette in Berlin. They found amongst other things a Polish assault rifle, a Czech machine pistol, and a convincing replica of a grenade launcher, as stated by the Prosecutor's Office Verden and the Criminal Investigation Office Lower Saxony. The investigators believe that Klette and her accomplices used these weapons and replicas during robberies. They are suspected of having stolen around 2.7 million Euros.
Since 2015, the Prosecutor's Office Verden has been investigating Daniela Klette, Ernst-Volker Staub, and Burkhard Garweg for attempted murder as well as attempted and committed serious robberies in several cases. Klette was arrested at the end of February in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Staub and Garweg are still being sought after. They were part of the so-called third generation of the left-extremist Red Army Faction (RAF), which killed more than 30 people. In 1998, the RAF declared itself dissolved.
The investigators have now released photos of the Seizures and hope to receive tips. They are addressing several questions to the public - for example, who can make statements about the findings, where the weapons came from, and where they were used.
