There were several plans to attack Putin

For an agent, the chief of the Ukrainian military intelligence service has quite a loose mouth. Now he's letting points fly against Vladimir Putin.

There are few known attempts on Vladimir Putin's life during his long tenure as Kremlin chief.

Ukrainian Intelligence - There were several plans to attack Putin

Against Russian President Vladimir Putin, there have been multiple attempted attacks according to the Ukrainian military intelligence services, as stated by Security Service Chief Kyrylo Budanow in an interview with the Ukrainian portal "New Voice." However, Budanow provided no evidence to support his claim and gave no indication as to whether his agency or other Kiev intelligence services were involved in such plans.

Budanow is known for provocations that are part of his psychological warfare. The Kreml reacted to the statement: Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov made it clear that adequate security measures have been taken for Putin's safety. "The threat from the Kiev regime is obvious," he said in Moscow to the state news agency Tass.

Putin in power for over 20 years

Budanow continued to pour oil on the fire with the statement that Putin is no longer the compromise figure recognized by all in the Russian elite. However, since he has been in power for over 20 years, the Russians are afraid of losing him. Therefore, he expects after Putin's death a situation similar to that in the Soviet Union in 1953. For people in the Soviet Union at that time, "their entire world had collapsed, they didn't know how to continue living," said the head of the Military Intelligence.

So far, little is known about attempted attacks on Putin. Budanow had already claimed in May 2022 that there had been an attempt on Putin only a few days after the attack on Ukraine. This was allegedly carried out by men from the Caucasus. Budanow could not provide evidence for his claim.

Zelensky no longer counts attack plans

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once said in an interview that he had stopped counting how many assassination plans there had been against him. Directly after the Russian invasion in February 2022, Russian special forces hunted for him in Kiev. The latest reorganization of his personal protection in May of this year allegedly saw two officers from Moscow hired for attacks on Zelensky, Budanow, and other Ukrainian officials.

Budanow's assertion that Putin is no longer seen as a compromise figure within the Russian elite could potentially escalate Putin's 'Attack Plan' security measures, given Russia's history and fear of instability following a leadership change, as Putin has been in power for over 20 years.

Given the history of attempted attacks on both Putin and Zelensky, Kyrylo Budanov's statement about an alleged attempt on Putin only a few days after the Ukraine conflict in May 2022 raises questions about the credibility of such 'Attack Plan' claims, as they often lack concrete evidence.
