There is a high risk of severe weather again on Saturday

Last Saturday, the German football national team's appearance was turned into a water adventure by the weather. It was supposed to be dry during the quarterfinals. However, at the public viewings, caution was advised in some places on Saturday.

While High "Claudio" brought an unusually pleasant day to the south, Tropical Depressions "Caprice" and "Delia" were causing nerves in the north and northwest. It is windy, cloudy, and unstable. It will be even stormier on Saturday. Then, Tropical Depression "Delia" moves from the north as a tropical storm into the east and south and causes lightning heat there, followed by heavy rain, hail, and strong thunderstorms. Along the North Sea, one has to deal with the next autumn storm. Here are the details:

What is the weather like for the Public Viewing on Friday evening?
From North Rhine-Westphalia to the coasts, it is rather unstable. Football fans should have an umbrella or better a jacket. It will not rain everywhere, the rainfall amounts are usually manageable. In the east and south, the weather is calm and dry. It is also quite fresh: At kick-off at 6 p.m., it is approximately 16 degrees in the northwest, a good 21 degrees in the east and in the south and in the cities even up to 24 degrees. At the second kick-off at 9 p.m., it is cooler, with temperatures of around 15 degrees in the north, 18 degrees in the east, and predominantly around 20 degrees in the west and south. Tendency towards midnight, of course, decreasing.

Where is it stormy on Saturday?
Saturday often begins with lively weather, but it rains at the coasts and it is hazy in the west. Over the mountains, there may be the first showers. In the course of the day, strong showers and thunderstorms develop from the west, which reach the east in the evening with thunderstorm danger. It can be very violent in the Alps. Local heavy storms are expected, possibly even with hurricane-force winds. In addition, there is heavy rain and, especially in the southeast, hail. The North Sea has less to worry about, but gets some thunderstorms, if not even severe thunderstorms - Autumn Summer 2024. In the east, it is up to 32 degrees, in the western mountains and the North Sea around 20 degrees and a lot of wind.

Will it be better on Sunday?
Not for everyone, as heavy and thundery continuous rain falls from the Alps to Lower Bavaria. In some places, more than 50 liters in 24 hours can accumulate. In the northwest, there are individual showers or thunderstorms, but without thunderstorm danger. And most regions can look forward to a beautiful, sunny day. It is cooler there with 16 degrees at the Alps and 24 degrees in the Palatinate and Lower Lusatia. The next days bring more heat and Monday and Tuesday also a lot of sun. So there are also good weather news.

The meteorological conditions leading up to the international football event were quite challenging, with extreme weather affecting several regions. The upcoming International Day, however, is expected to be stormy across many parts of Europe, particularly in the west and south, where heavy rain, hail, and strong thunderstorms are forecasted.
