- The weekend is changing, the week is getting hot.
Weekend Weather: A Mixed Bag with Scattered Showers and Storms
Sun, rain, and the occasional thunderstorm: The weekend weather will be a colorful mix with plenty to offer. The good news upfront: "The major severe weather threat has now passed," said meteorologist Robert Hausen from the German Weather Service (DWD). However, the weather here won't truly calm down, "which fits with this changeable summer overall."
Saturday, according to DWD, will be changeable and warm with a muggy feel. Especially in the south and west, and later in the day even in the north up to the Elbe, "showers and thunderstorms are likely." Otherwise, it will mostly stay dry with the sun making occasional appearances. Temperatures will reach a maximum of 23 to 28°C, and slightly above 20°C at the coast.
Cool Nights
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with showers and isolated thunderstorms expected again, particularly from the Baltic Sea to the Erzgebirge and in parts of southern Germany. Long periods of sunshine can be enjoyed mainly at the North Sea. The thermometer will climb to 22 to 27°C. Nights will be noticeably cooler: "Nighttime temperatures will range from 17 to 10°C, making for pleasant nights," said meteorologist Hausen.
The start of the new week promises increasingly hot weather, with the sun also making more frequent appearances, according to DWD. On Tuesday, temperatures could reach up to 30°C, said Hausen: "The next weather system in the form of a stormy cooling from the west is expected to arrive as early as Wednesday."

Despite the passed major severe weather threat, scattered showers and storms will still be present during the weekend, as meteorologist Hausen from DWD mentioned. Moreover, the nighttime temperatures will provide a refreshing change, with gaps ranging from 17 to 10°C, as Hausen also highlighted.
