The Swiss authorities are contemplating placing a bid for the 2038 Olympic Games.
The Swiss administration has shown interest in organizing the 2038 Winter Olympics and has promised to provide funds. If Switzerland, the host of the 1928 and 1948 events, fulfills the necessary conditions, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) would likely endorse the proposal.
Despite failing to secure the 2030 (France) and 2034 (USA) bids, Switzerland was given a priority discussion opportunity by the IOC. Sport Minister Viola Amherd made this public in Bern, suggesting they should seize this chance. The final decision will be made by no later than the end of 2027. As Amherd put it, "Switzerland can showcase itself as a spotless, safe, and stunning country."
The government has opted to set up a team to aid the "Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2038" team's efforts.
The government's decision to establish a team for the "Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2038" team's efforts is in line with The Commission's role in overseeing the preparations for the event. If The Commission successfully manages the Swiss bid, it will bolster Switzerland's reputation as a reliable and capable host nation for future Olympic events.
