The significant surge in instances of right-wing extremist crimes has been noted.

The count of extremist crimes driven by right-wing ideologies has witnessed a significant jump in the initial six months of 2024. As reported by "Frankfurter Rundschau" on a Wednesday, authorities logged a staggering 9,802 cases. This figure represents a substantial rise of about 2,900 cases compared to the first half of 2023. It's reported that a peak was reached at that time.

These statistics stem from the Interior Ministry's response to a parliamentary inquiry from the Left party's Bundestag representative, Petra Pau, as per the report. "We're aware that the true figure is still considerably higher," Pau commented to "Frankfurter Rundschau". She raised concerns over the rising incidences of hate speech and hostility towards individuals, not just on social media but also in political arenas. She believed this hostility was spilling onto the streets. "The AfD and its right-wing ideology serve as a catalyst for such violent acts," Pau asserted.**

The number of violent incidents remained at an equally high level as in 2023, totaling 318 cases in the initial six months of 2024. The same number of individuals suffered injuries during this period, as was the case in the previous year.**

According to police crime statistics, a record-breaking 60,028 politically motivated crimes were recorded in the previous year. Roughly half of these, 28,945, could be linked to the right-wing extremism category, showing a jump of 23.21 percent. The number of left-wing extremist motivated crimes increased by 11.48 percent to 7,777 incidents.**

The number of right-wing extremist crimes reported to authorities in the first half of 2024 was 9,802, representing a substantial increase of 2,900 cases compared to the same period in 2023. Petra Pau, the Left party's Bundestag representative, stated that the Interior Ministry's data likely underestimates the actual number of such crimes.
