In Germany, the odds of foreign laborers having their vocational competencies acknowledged have seen an uptick. Last year, authorities validated 65,300 petitions, marking a 25% surge from the year prior, as per the Federal Statistical Office. This development outpaced the 11% rise witnessed in the preceding year. Approximately 2,300 petitions were turned down.
Over two-thirds (66%) of the approved validation processes pertained to medical professions. Over half (56%) of all procedures encompassed nurses. Doctors made up 14%, while engineers, instructors, and educators followed suit.
Merely 6% of the applications originated from German citizens. One in ten favorable verdicts was for a qualification from Turkey. This was followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Philippines, Tunisia, Syria, India, and Ukraine. The number of new applications swelled by 26% to 62,100 last year.
The surge in validated petitions by authorities last year was primarily from medical professions, with nurses accounting for over half of all approvals. Despite only 6% of applications coming from German citizens, Turkey had the second-highest number of favorable verdicts after Germany.
