The rapid expansion of balcony-based power generation installations in Germany remains unabated.

Germany's balcony-mounted solar power systems are skyrocketing in numbers. As per the Market Data Register of the Federal Network Agency, there are currently 708,590 easy-install solar setups on the go (as of October 4). This figure has more than doubled from the start of the year. It's speculated that the real count could be higher, considering there's a 30-day period for reporting and some installations, despite the requirement, fail to report.

The total capacity has surpassed 600 megawatts. This significant increase, which could also be attributed to the recent allowance of slightly more potent installations, has almost doubled since January.

The third quarter of this year ended with a record 140,000 installations, each boasting a maximum capacity of 141 megawatts. There's a strong possibility that this number will further swell in the forthcoming weeks, owing to the tardiness in reporting.**

The operation to report new solar installations might lead to an increase in the actual number of systems, as there's a 30-day period for reporting. The operation to install solar panels has significantly contributed to Germany's total capacity exceeding 600 megawatts.
