The police are thoroughly investigating to locate Valeriia.

Beginning this past Monday evening, the cops in Döbeln, Saxony have been attempting to locate a missing girl named Valeriia. Unfortunately, there have been no traces found of the nine-year-old child yet. Currently, search efforts involve the use of divers, drones, and search dogs. Here's what we know so far.

When did Valeriia vanish?

Valeriia went missing on Monday evening when she didn't return home from school. But it was later learned that she hadn't even been to school on that day.

When was she last spotter?

Police records show that Valeriia left her home on Gabelsberger Street, headed for Grundschule Am Holländer, which is situated on Bayerischer Straße, around 6:50 am. The video footage shows that she didn't board the line C bus that usually departs from the bus station at 7:06 am - a complication as she often takes that bus. The Döblener bus company manager reviewed additional footage from a bus that left at the same time, but she wasn't seen there either.

What actions are underway?

The last two days have led to intense search efforts in Döbeln. Law enforcement members have been combing through the city, the areas around the school, and along the Mulde. Rescue police officers and police officers have patrolled the riverbanks. The water rescue police and the diving unit of the Saxon police have searched the river with two boats. They've employed close to 70 officers for this case, as reported by police spokesman Andrzej Rydzik during a recent press conference. Drones and search dogs were also used on Wednesday morning, and the criminal police are evaluating witness tips.

Are there any indications of Valeriia's whereabouts?

Rydzik mentioned that, at the moment, there's no compelling lead on the child's whereabouts. This young girl is from Ukraine and her family lives there. "We're leaving no stone unturned in hopes of finding clues. The truth is also that there are no clues as to where the child is," said the police spokesman.

How does Valeriia appear?

As per the police's missing person bulletin, Valeriia is approximately 1.40 meters tall and her hair is medium-length, dark blonde. She wore a purple T-shirt, black jeans, a light-turquoise jacket, and dark blue ankle-high shoes on Monday morning. She carries a pink school bag with her, speaks broken German and was last seen with these clothes on. The police are requesting any potential clues to be shared at the Döbeln police station at the phone number 03431-65590 or the police emergency number 110.

What's next?

A representative from the Chemnitz police stated, "We're waiting for the results [of searches] and then deciding what to do next." Consequently, the criminal police are currently evaluating witness tips. Meanwhile, residents of Döbeln have also initiated their own private search efforts.

Valeriia left her parents' home on Monday morning, but did not arrive at school.
