The annual UNHCR report on refugees and displacement indicates that over 7.1 million people have been internally displaced within Sudan since April 2023, with an additional 1.9 million seeking refuge in neighboring countries. Humanitarian groups have previously raised alarms about an impending humanitarian calamity.
Both factions are under scrutiny for war crimes, including targeted assaults on civilians, indiscriminate shelling of residential areas, and the hindrance of humanitarian assistance.
