Training - The number of applicants for the Thuringian Civil Service has increased.
In Thuringia, more young people are showing interest in a training program in public administration. Since not enough applicants could be hired last year to meet the demand reported by Thuringian authorities, all training and study places could be filled this year, according to the State Administration Office in Weimar. Therefore, 25 applicants began their two-year training as administrative clerks on August 1st, and 32 applicants began their dual studies as Diploma Administrative Clerks on September 1st.
The 57 new administrative employees were reportedly selected from over 440 applicants and successfully completed the two-stage selection process. Last year, there were about 100 fewer applications - only 53 young people began their training or studies. To counteract the declining applicant numbers in recent years, the State Administration Office intensified its public relations work and expanded opportunities for school internships and career fairs.
Many potential applicants could have been won over, it was stated. To gain early practical insights into the workday and an overview of development opportunities in public service, opportunities for student internships were also expanded. The administrative employees will be deployed in various institutions, including the State Administration Office, ministries, the State Criminal Police Office, the Auditor's Office, and the State Chancellery.
- The applicant number for this year's training program in public administration at the Thuringian Regional Administration Office in Weimar exceeded 440, providing a diverse pool of candidates for selection.
- During the training program, the applicants will receive comprehensive training in various aspects of public administration, including sessions at the Management Department.
- Upon completion of their training, the newly-minted administrative clerks and Diploma Administrative Clerks will be deployed to various institutions across Thuringia, such as the State Criminal Police Office in Weimar.
