Postponed for several months - The Israeli military releases four hostages affiliated with Hamas in Gaza.
Israeli defense forces have managed to free four hostages held captive in the Gaza Strip. The abducted individuals, taken from Israel, were reportedly rescued during operations conducted in the Nuseirat refugee camp. They consist of a 25-year-old woman and three men, aged 21, 27, and 40.
Currently, the hostages are receiving medical attention at a hospital in Israel. It is believed that they were kidnapped by terrorists during the Nova Music Festival on October 7th. The freed individuals were retrieved from separate locations within the Nuseirat camp.
The army had previously declared their intention to target terrorist facilities in that area.
More than 250 hostages unaccounted for
The recent attack in Gaza on October 7 has led to the disappearance of more than 250 hostages, a figure that has yet to be matched in history. This horrific incident prompted the Gaza War. With an estimated 120 of these hostages remaining in the Gaza Strip, there's a growing fear that they have perished.
The plight of the released woman, who was caught by terrorists on a motorcycle and pleaded for assistance, has touched the hearts of many in Israel. Her mother, battling cancer in its advanced stages, had begged to see her daughter for the last time.
Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, in a statement from his office, expressed joy over the safe return of the four hostages. He described the operation as "heroic."
