- The International Atomic Energy Agency's leader is scheduled to travel to Kiev and Sapporo.

The leader of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, is set to return to Kyiv on Tuesday. The IAEA also revealed that Grossi will visit the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station.

The nuclear power station, which has been under Russian control since the commencement of their invasion approximately two and a half years back, has frequently been the focus of attacks and sabotage attempts. Both Russia and Ukraine point fingers at each other for these incidents.

Mid-August saw a significant escalation, according to inspectors. An incident involved an explosion close to the safety zone, which the IAEA experts on site attributed to a drone carrying explosives, they mentioned.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has brought about a dangerous situation, with the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station becoming a potential flashpoint in the wider war. Despite calls for de-escalation, the facility has continued to be a target of attacks and sabotage attempts.
