Flooding Updates in Real Time

The flood situation in Rosenheim's district has slightly improved.

The flood crisis in Rosenheim's southern area has calmed down a bit, according to the district's update. Thus, schools and kindergartens in the affected towns are supposed to remain closed tomorrow. Reports of evacuations in Raubling and Rohrdorf are making rounds, but the number of people involved is unclear so far. The district has already proclaimed a disaster emergency. More than a thousand emergency responders from the fire department and Technical Relief Organization are working on the scene, as per the district's report. The German Meteorological Service says that the rainfall in Bavaria is due to decline overnight on Tuesday.

1:28AM - German Weather Service revokes warning for entire Germany

Amidst the growing flood emergency in southern Germany, the German Weather Service (DWD) has withdrawn all weather warnings for Germany. DWD is the one who reported this. The heavy rains in the past few days caused the water levels of several streams and rivers, especially in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, to rise drastically. Entire villages were flooded even after dams were breached. At least four people have lost their lives in the floods so far. The situation remained tense in both regions on Monday.

12:01AM - Most water levels in the southwest are going down

After flooding during the past few days, the water levels at most rivers in the southwest are falling now. Only at larger rivers like the Danube and the Rhine are there still rising water levels, says the flood forecast center. However, there are no longer any critical measurements to be expected that would be exceeded, says a spokeswoman. The water level at the Danube from Hundersingen in the district of Sigmaringen downstream, as well as at Lake Constance, the Upper and Upper Rhine, is currently still rising. At the Maxau Pegel near Karlsruhe, the peak value, which was 8.29 meters on Sunday, is not expected to be surpassed again. At the Neckar, the trend is decreasing.

11:36PM - Rosenheim: People are urged to stay at home

The Landkreis Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria is urging residents to remain home in response to the floods. "There is a clear threat to life and limb," states an announcement from the authorities. People are advised to avoid staying outdoors, keep away from open bodies of water, and not interfere with rescue services' work. Instruction will be cancelled in a number of communities on Tuesday: Brannenburg, Raubling, Rohrdorf, Oberaudorf, Kiefersfelden, Nussdorf, Neubeuern, Bad Feilnbach, and Flintsbach. The State Education Authority Rosenheim will notify the affected schools. Kindergartens in those towns are also predicted to remain closed.

9:57PM - Parts of Burg Falkenstein fallen in Flintsbach

Parts of Burg Falkenstein in Flintsbach, Rosenheim district, fell due to the heavy downpours. This is confirmed by the Rosenheim district administration. 50 residents residing under the castle must be evacuated.

9:08PM - Wesel: Members of the Grav-Island must be evacuated

The operators of the Grav-Island campground in North Rhine-Westphalia have ordered an evacuation within the next 24 hours due to the flood situation. The escalating water levels in the local rivers and water bodies are the cause of this, the Grav-Island operators report. The Grav-Island is the biggest campground in Germany with 5000 permanent campers.

8:53PM - At Regensburg's Werftstraße, people are being evacuated

The Regensburg Werftstraße is going through an evacuation procedure, as claimed by the city of Regensburg. The street is positioned directly on the Danube, and the groundwater levels are causing the soil of the street to swell. The flood-prevention elements set up there could fail and the street could be submerged. About 200 people now need to evacuate by 9:00 PM.
