Denmark's PM, Mette Frederiksen, is now recovering in a hospital after enduring a mild whiplash injury courtesy of an assault. This happened on Friday in the bustling streets of Copenhagen. Frederiksen's 46-year-old self is perfectly healthy, but the incident has left her rattled. Regrettably, several events she was due to partake in on Saturday have had to be called off.

A 39-year-old man has been captured by the police and is currently facing charges. The reasoning for this brutal act initially remained a mystery.

Presidents and prime ministers from various countries have vocally expressed their dismay over the attack. French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted, "This unacceptable incident, aimed at the Danish PM, warrants strong condemnation. I wish Mette Frederiksen a speedy recovery." EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen shared her distaste, asserting, "This repugnant act, antithetical to all we hold dear in Europe, has earned my disapproval. You've got strength and courage - you've got plenty of both for this." The Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, couldn't help but add his two cents: "The assault on a democratic leader is an attack on our democratic values."
