Rescue operation - The car catches fire after an accident - passengers seriously injured
Two people were severely injured in a car accident in the Bergisch Land region. A 27-year-old man lost control of his car on the L288 in Lohmar (Rhineland-Sieg District) for reasons yet to be determined, and veered off the road.
The car struck a tree with the passenger side. According to the police, the vehicle caught fire immediately. Brave bystanders rescued the man and his 20-year-old female passenger from the car before it completely burned out. Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The car accident on Sunday in Lohmar, North Rhine-Westphalia, has sparked discussions about road safety. Automatic emergency response systems were activated, initiating a swift rescue operation.
