Experts note that the future of the Passat is behind this model. The nearly five-meter VW ID.7 has been rolling off the production line at the plant in Emden, East Frisia, since the end of August.
Although the production of the Passat is likely to cease in a few years, the ID.7 is becoming an integral part of VW's model lineup for many years to come. It certainly has everything the average driver in Germany needs.
The largest electric sedan from Wolfsburg today (with a length of 4.96 meters) can cover about 620 to 700 kilometers on a single charge. The distance will depend on operating conditions.
The base equipment includes, among other things:
- a projection display;
- a rearview camera;
- a navigation system (Discover Max Pro);
- 19-inch wheels.
It sounds impressive.
The ID.7's trunk with a wide-opening rear door can hold 532 liters, and the engine power is 210 kW/286 hp. It is said that in the future, at least, an all-wheel-drive version will be possible.
The starting price is 57,000 euros. The top model with an 85 kWh battery is expected to cost around 70,000 euros. By the way, besides this car, other models competed for the title of the best in various categories.
Winners in Different Categories:
- Compact models priced up to 35,000 euros – MG 4;
- Premium-class models priced up to 70,000 euros – VW ID.7;
- Luxurious models priced over 70,000 euros – Kia EV9;
- Alternative drives – Hyundai Ioniq 6;
- Powerful models – Porsche 911 T.
These models were pre-selected by an expert jury from all the relevant innovations over the past twelve months. Only after that was the absolute winner announced – VW ID.7.
The car of the year in Germany is chosen by 29 journalists from German-speaking countries and 10 international invited members of the jury.
