Criminality - Ten suspects arrested after dispute in biker community
After a dispute in the Rocker scene with five injured individuals in Unterfranken, the Police have temporarily arrested ten suspects. The men, aged 25 to 63, are accused of serious breach of peace and attempted murder, according to a joint statement from the Unterfranken Police Headquarters and the Würzburg Prosecutor's Office. They are scheduled to appear before an investigating judge on Monday.
The incident on Saturday is said to have involved a dispute between two rival groups on the premises of a gas station in Marktheidenfeld (Main-Spessart district), during which weapons were used. Approximately 40 people were reportedly involved. When the first police officers arrived, the perpetrators initially escaped unnoticed.
The injured, including two with serious injuries, were all taken to different hospitals. One victim with a stab wound was flown to a clinic by helicopter.
Following the incident in Marktheidenfeld, authorities in Upper Franconia have expressed concern over potential escalations in the Rocker milieu. The Würzburg Prosecutor's Office has also confirmed an increase in criminality within this subculture.
Interestingly, it's worth noting that despite Bavaria's reputation for tranquility, incidents like these occasionally occur in areas beyond just Unterfranken.
In light of these events, local authorities in Upper Franconia have emphasized the need for increased police vigilance and cooperation, particularly in locations frequented by the Rocker scene.
With the ongoing investigation into the Marktheidenfeld incident, it remains unclear if any of the suspects from Bavaria have any connections to the Rocker milieu in Upper Franconia.
