Ten dead and many injured in bus crash in Turkey
In a severe bus accident in Turkey, at least ten people have lost their lives. Twenty-five others were injured when the intercity bus collided with a road pillar, state television TRT reported, citing the governor of Ankara province.
Images showed rescue teams searching through the wrecked bus. The driver was also among the dead, it was reported. The accident occurred early in the morning southwest of the Turkish capital Ankara in the district of Polatli. The bus was traveling from the Aegean coastal city of Izmir to the city of Agri, over 1300 kilometers away in the east of Turkey. It was not a tourist bus. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
The governor's report mentioned that at least twenty-five people were injured in the bus accident. Following the incident, injured passengers were transported to local hospitals for medical attention.
