German Weather Service - Temperatures decrease a little after summer heat
The great heatwave is over for now. According to Markus Ubel from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach, on Monday we can expect a rather friendly day with sunshine and typical fair-weather clouds, between 22 to 27 degrees Celsius. He added: "People suffering from the heat can breathe a sigh of relief." In the east and south, however, it may still rain and thunder and lightning.
On Tuesday, the cold front from Low Ilse moves towards Germany from the northwest. Then, it could get turbulent in the northwest, according to the DWD. There, it's expected to be between 21 to 24 degrees Celsius, "uncertain with showery rain and thunderstorms, which could locally turn severe." Thunderstorms are also possible in the Alps. Elsewhere in Germany, there will be sunshine and stratus clouds, between 24 to 28 degrees Celsius.
According to Ubel's statements, the showers and thunderstorms will continue to move towards the southeast on Wednesday night. On Wednesday and Thursday, we can expect two quiet, often sunny days with pleasant summer temperatures, without oppressive heat.
Markus Übel, from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach, also mentioned potential thunderstorms in the Alps on Tuesday, alongside the turbulence expected in the northwest of Germany. Overall, Germany will experience a variety of weather conditions, with varying temperatures and precipitation throughout the region.
