wage negotiations - Tariff agreement at Wicker-Clinics in Nordhessen
The conflict over a collective agreement at the Wicker Clinics in North Hesse has been resolved. Verdi and the management have agreed that the salaries of employees will gradually approach the collective agreement in the public sector, according to the union. In addition, wage increases and an inflation adjustment bonus have been agreed upon.
Therefore, all 3,000 non-medical employees in the clinics will receive a total of up to 3,000 Euros in inflation adjustment by the end of the year. For the rehabilitation sector, there will be an additional increase of approximately 7.8% on average from February 2025. Furthermore, all rehabilitation and acute clinics will receive 2% more money from February 2025, and an additional 2% from November 2025. The collective agreement runs until the end of 2025, according to Verdi.
Stefan Röhrhoff, the negotiator for the union, expressed satisfaction with the result, which he said was the highest wage increase since the founding of the Wicker Group: "This is the first step towards better pay. We now have a good foundation for further negotiations," he said in a statement. Verdi announced that negotiations on how to implement the approach to the public sector collective agreement would begin in the fall of this year.
According to the company, the Wicker Group, based in Bad Wildungen (Landkreis Waldeck-Frankenberg), includes nine rehabilitation clinics, three acute clinics, and two medical care centers. The company employs around 3,600 people.
- Despite the tariff dispute between the Wicker Group and the United Services Trade Union, a Tariff Agreement was finally reached, ensuring fair tariffs for all employees in Northern Hesse.
- The resolution of the conflict over disease management within the Wicker Clinics also included negotiations about salary adjustments, aiming to bridge the gap between their salaries and those in the public sector.
- The Tariff Agreement in Hesse meant that the hike in salaries would help combat the effects of inflation, contributing positively to the overall health and well-being of employees in the Wicker Group.
- The management of the Wicker Group in Frankfurt acknowledged that the implementation of the Tariff Agreement would boost morale among employees and help reduce potential disease-related absences due to financial stress.
- The Tariff Agreement, along with continued negotiations on management strategies, is expected to help maintain a harmonious work environment within the Wicker Clinics throughout 2025 and beyond.
