Survey: 41 percent of German citizens vote for new elections
According to the ARD Deutschlandtrend, 41% of Germans are in favor of new elections. In the Infratest Dimap survey, only 32% believe that the "traffic light" coalition should continue to govern until the next regular federal election in 2025.
However, only 16% are in favor of a change to a grand coalition. Among supporters of the SPD (62%) and the Greens (80%), a majority are in favor of continuing the coalition. The situation is different for the FDP: 47% are in favor of the traffic light coalition, 39% would be in favor of an early end.
The CDU/CSU remains at 30% in the poll. The AfD remains in second place with 21% (minus one). The SPD (down one percentage point) is now on a par with the Greens (up one) at 15%. The FDP comes in at five percent (up one). 56% of respondents do not consider the measures to combat anti-Semitism to be sufficient.
In the same vein of political sentiment, it's worth noting that in an Infratest Dimap survey, only 32% of Germans expressed support for the "traffic light" coalition continuing to govern until 2025's regular federal election. Contrasting this, a significant 41% of German citizens, as per ARD Deutschlandtrend, advocate for new elections, indicating a desire for political change. Furthermore, the data reveals that a mere 16% of Germans support a shift to a grand coalition.
