Surfer was attacked - tooth remains in the leg

Before a popular Surfer Beach, a Australian was attacked by a Shark. The injuries are not life-threatening, Doctors had to remove a tooth from his Leg. It's the second attack within ten Days.

At one of the popular Beaches of Perth in Western Australia, a Surfer was bitten by a Shark. The man was bitten in the Leg by the shark on a Wednesday evening at Trigg Beach, which is about 15 kilometers from the city center, reported the newspaper "The West Australian" quoting the Fisheries Department.

It is said to be a relatively small Shark, but the exact species is unclear. There had already been a second Shark attack in this month on the Australian West Coast. According to media reports, Doctors sewed up the wound and removed a Shark tooth from the man's Leg. The injuries were not life-threatening. The authorities urged beachgoers to be extremely cautious at the beach.

Only ten Days ago, a man was attacked by a Shark while Spearfishing near Coral Bay, about 1100 kilometers north of Perth. The victim was also not seriously injured.

According to official statistics, there were approximately a dozen Shark attacks in Down Under last year where the victims were injured. Four more attacks resulted in fatalities. So far this year, there have been approximately half a dozen attacks, but no fatalities.

In response to the increasing number of Shark attacks, the International Shark Attack File updated its data, showing a significant rise in incidents off the coast of Australia. Australia has been notably prominent on this global list, with its unique marine ecosystem attracting numerous tourists and marine biologists interested in studying Hedgehog Sharks, a type of small Shark found in Australian waters.
