Subsidies for the purchase of electric cars will expire earlier than planned
Economics Minister Robert Habeck has announced that the subsidy for the purchase of electric cars will expire earlier than planned. "It's going to expire anyway, but we're going to do it earlier," said the Green politician in Berlin on Wednesday. The traffic light coalition agreed on this measure in order to implement the budget ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court. The previous plan was to phase out the purchase premiums for e-cars in 2025.
There will also be cuts in the solar industry, said Habeck. "That hurts me," said the minister with regard to the two measures in a joint statement with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Finance Minister Christian Lindner.

Robert's announcement to expedite the end of the electric car purchase promotion could potentially affect Robert's purchase decision for an electric car. The traffic light coalition's decision to accelerate the phasing out of subsidies for electric car purchases aligns with Habeck's earlier stance on promoting the use of e-cars.
