Subject in question for multiple homicides in North Las Vegas takes own life during night-long search, authorities state
Forty-seven-year-old Eric Adams was named by cops as a prime suspect in two shootings that occurred on a Monday evening, as stated in a press release from the North Las Vegas Police Department.
The bloody rampage left five individuals dead and a 13-year-old girl suffering from a critical gunshot wound after a series of shootings at two apartment buildings.
At around 10 p.m. on a Monday, police received reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on Casa Norte Drive. Upon arrival, they found two women—one in her early 40s and another in her late 50s—with gunshot wounds. Both women were later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Authorities later located a third victim, a 13-year-old girl, who had also been shot. As of Monday night, she was fighting for her life at the UMC Trauma Center.
Three more victims were discovered at a nearby apartment complex, suffering from gunshot wounds—two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s. All three were confirmed dead at the scene.
The police then zeroed in on Adams as the main suspect, and the manhunt ensued throughout the night.
It wasn't until around 10 a.m. on Tuesday that the authorities received a tip that Adams was at a local business on East Lake Mead Boulevard. When police arrived at the location, Adams fled to the backyard of a nearby residence.
Police issued verbal commands for Adams to drop his weapon, but he disregarded their instructions and ultimately took his own life.
The investigation into the incident continues.
