Right-wing extremism - Stuebgen under "Compact"-Prohibition: "Hate and Vilification in High Gloss

Brandenburg's Interior Minister Michael Stübgen has evaluated the ban on the right-wing extremist "Compact" magazine as the right step. The magazine is "Hate and Propaganda in High Gloss," said the CDU politician. "This platform of democracy haters pursues a goal, and that is the destruction of our free democratic society."

Since the early morning hours, according to the Interior Ministry, apartments and business premises in Falkensee, Werder, Panketal and Groß Kreutz have been searched for the seizure of assets and further evidence. Over 200 enforcement officers of the Brandenburg police and the Federal police were involved. Raids also took place in Hesse, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt.

Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) justified the ban by stating that "Compact" is a "central megaphone of the right-wing extremist scene." Since 2021, the Brandenburg Constitutional Protection Agency has also classified the platform as proven extremist endeavor.

"Right-wing extremist conspiracy theories, calls for the overthrow of Democracy and the permanent dissemination of Russian disinformation campaigns" are the cornerstones of the "daily Compact propaganda," said Stübgen. "That's enough." According to the Brandenburg Constitutional Protection Agency, the Reichsbürger milieu, QAnon followers, and above all right-wing extremists find their ideological nourishment here.
