A Israeli Labor Tribunal has mandated trade unions to conclude a nationwide walkout by 13:30 local time (12:30 CEST), as per reliable reports from Israeli news outlets. Justice Hadas Jahalom issued a temporary restraining order, prompting this action, citing the strike as being of a "political nature".

The gruesome discovery of six captives' bodies in Gaza sparked a comprehensive work stoppage across Israel. On Sunday, the collective union body announced their intention to halt the country's operations for a full day. The primary objective is to exert pressure on Netanyahu to endorse a deal for the liberation of the remaining hostages. As early as Sunday, hundreds of thousands had called for an immediate agreement with the militant Islamic group Hamas at the biggest mass demonstrations since the initiation of the Gaza conflict nearly eleven months back.

Air traffic delays and disruptions were noted at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, according to media coverage.

The European Union expressed concern over the escalating situation in Israel, urging for a peaceful resolution. In light of the nationwide strike, representatives from the European Union called for an urgent meeting with Israeli political leaders.
