Weather - Storms with heavy rain expected in Berlin and Brandenburg

Heavy showers and thunderstorms cast a gloom over the summer week's start. The German Weather Service issued a warning for Berlin, Potsdam, the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, and Havelland regarding severe thunderstorms. The DWD forecasted heavy rain of up to 40 liters per square meter and gusts of wind up to 90 kilometers per hour for the Potsdam area. For northeastern Brandenburg, the DWD also issued a warning for local thunderstorm developments with gusts of wind up to 90 kilometers per hour and heavy rain of up to 40 liters per square meter.

After a sunny morning, the unsettled showers and thunderstorms will move over Brandenburg by noon. Hail up to 2 centimeters in diameter should also be expected in certain areas. Temperatures will remain high, reaching up to 31 degrees. On Thursday, the temperature is expected to reach a maximum of 29 degrees under light winds, with further possible thunderstorms and heavy rain in the afternoon. The weekend is predicted to bring changeable weather with summer temperatures just below 30 degrees.
