Weather - Storms with heavy rain and gales expected in Brandenburg

Heavy showers and thunderstorms cast a gloom over the summer week's start. The German Weather Service (DWD) issued a warning for powerful thunderstorms with gusts up to 85 kilometers per hour and heavy rain up to 40 liters per square meter, particularly in the northeastern part of Brandenburg.

After a sunny morning, these unsettled showers and thunderstorms will affect Brandenburg by noon. Hail up to 2 cm in diameter should also be expected in certain areas. It remains humid with temperatures reaching 31 degrees. The night leading to Thursday may bring more showers and thunderstorms along with fog with visibility below 150 meters. The temperature drops to 16 degrees.

On Thursday, with light winds, the maximum temperature is forecasted to be 29 degrees, and there is a possibility of more thunderstorms and heavy rain throughout the day. This trend continues into the night leading to Thursday. Temperatures could drop to a chilly 5 degrees. The weather remains changeable towards the weekend with summer temperatures just below 30 degrees.

The thunderstorm warning from DWD is predominantly for the northeastern part of Brandenburg, including the city of Potsdam. The storms are expected to disrupt the calm start of the week in Berlin. Despite the looming storm, the weather in Brandenburg is predicted to be unusually humid, reaching temperatures of 31 degrees. The stormy conditions may persist into the night, resulting in thunderstorms and potential hail in certain areas.
