Munich - Stolen luxury watches from the wrist - 240,000 Euro damage

Twice in the past few days, Luxury Watches have been stolen in Munich. The damage amounted to 240,000 Euro, as the police reported. The perpetrators were initially unknown. Whether the cases were related was also unclear.

On the previous Saturday, a 69-year-old man had his wristwatch ripped off near a restaurant in the Old Town. The unknown man then fled. When the 69-year-old man tried to follow the thief, another man stepped in his way. According to the police, he acted as if he wanted to help, but in fact aided the thief's escape. The watch was worth around 200,000 Euro.

Two days later, a similar incident occurred near a grocery store in Munich. A 49-year-old woman was just getting out of her car when an unknown man pushed her back and stole her watch from her wrist. They both then fled on a motorbike. The luxury watch was worth 40,000 Euro according to the statements.

The Police are currently looking for witnesses to the incidents. Both victims were slightly injured during the robberies.

The two robberies happened in the heart of Munich, specifically near a restaurant in the Old Town and near a grocery store. The luxury watches stolen belonged to a 69-year-old man worth 200,000 Euro and a 49-year-old woman worth 40,000 Euro. The perpetrators seem to be targeting high-end wristwatches, a concerning trend of criminality in Munich, especially in the upscale area of Upper Bavaria.
