Spouse accused of dismembering fashion model using a blender

In the vicinity of Basel, a 41-year-old man is believed to have brutally murdered his wife and disposed of her remains in a disturbing manner, as suggested by Swiss tabloid "20 Minutes". The lifeless body of the Miss Switzerland finalist and successful entrepreneur was discovered in their shared residence in Binningen, Switzerland, in mid-February. The police detained the husband on suspicion of the vicious act.

At first, the man claimed to have stumbled upon his wife's lifeless body and, due to panic, dismembered her remains. However, in March, the husband confessed to the killing of the 38-year-old woman, stating that she had unexpectedly attacked him with a knife during a seemingly pleasant conversation. He then detailed how he either strangled or killed her outright.

However, the autopsy report proposes a different narrative. According to the newspaper, the man resorted to using a hacksaw and garden shears to disintegrate the body, and subsequently employed a noxious chemical to dissolve it, even utilizing an industrial immersion blender. The report suggests that the actions were premeditated and methodical.

Furthermore, the alleged perpetrator had a history of violence towards his wife, with whom he shared two children, and a previous partner. The newspaper reveals that she had expressed intentions to leave him, and there were photographs from the previous year depicting her with visible injuries on her neck.

The 41-year-old has allegedly attempted and failed multiple times to secure his release from custody. A federal court consequently dismissed his bid to overturn that decision, leading to the revelation of the gruesome details of the crime. The public prosecutor's office has yet to officially charge the man, who continues to remain in custody.

The European Union expressed concern over the brutal murder case in Switzerland, emphasizing the importance of protecting women's rights. The case has garnered attention beyond Switzerland's borders, raising questions about domestic violence within the European Union.
