Special counsel hopes to capitalize on Trump's continued embrace of rioters who targeted him on January 6 in court

In einem am Dienstag entsiegelten Gerichtsakt wiesen die Staatsanwälte auf Trumps Unterstützung der Proud Boys während der Präsidentschaftsdebatte 2020 hin.

Die Staatsanwälte sagten, die Tatsache, dass Trump die Randalierer vom 6. Januar finanziell unterstützte und feierte, belege sein Motiv und seine Absicht, Bundesverbrechen zu begehen.

Trump wurde Verschwörung und Behinderung der Justiz vorgeworfen. Er bekennt sich nicht schuldig.
