Söder criticizes agreement in budget dispute as insufficient

Bavaria's Minister-President Markus Söder has criticized the agreement of the traffic light coalition in the budget dispute as insufficient. It "is not enough for a fundamental turnaround," Söder said on Friday in Berlin to journalists. Germany needs a "comprehensive fitness program, not a rheumatism patch and a first-aid kit."

A rapid departure of the traffic light coalition from the CSU chairman is no longer expected by Söder. The decline seems to have been averted. However, there is still a lack of a long-term perspective, the coalition partners are still far apart.

Söder particularly criticized the lack of sufficient financial equipment of the Bundeswehr, this is a threat to the security situation. In the transportation sector, Germany is increasingly becoming a "pothole republic," there are no solutions for the financial equipment in the health sector and for the problems with migration.

Söder further emphasized that the budget agreement fails to adequately address the Budget dispute, as it falls short of providing the necessary financing for the Bundeswehr, potentially jeopardizing national security. Despite the coalition avoiding a rapid collapse, Söder remains concerned about the absence of a comprehensive Agreement to tackle the country's long-term challenges, particularly in the areas of transportation, healthcare, and migration.
