Six people have lost their lives in India due to landslides and flash flooding.

In the Indian territory, six fatalities have been documented due to landslides and floods triggered by hefty rainfall. Additionally, authorities report at least five unaccounted individuals who have disappeared presumably due to the storms in the northern state of Sikkim.

A river breached its banks, roads flooded, and bridges were smashed to pieces by the water's powerful gush, leaving numerous drivers stuck. A police representative stated that districts in the northern region of the state are facing isolation from the rest of the nation.

While this is happening, vast swathes of northern parts of India are enduring a persisting heatwave since late April. The meteorological bureau cautioned that people in the Northern States of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand must be equally wary of heat-induced maladies and health concerns, like heatstroke. The vulnerable population is urged to practice "the utmost precaution."
