Six dead after Israeli army operation in the West Bank
According to Palestinian reports, six people have been killed in clashes during an Israeli army operation in the occupied West Bank. The dead were between 21 and 32 years old, according to the Ministry of Health in Ramallah. During the military operation in Tulkarm in the north of the Palestinian territory on Tuesday night, 12 people were also injured, four of them seriously. The Israeli army said it was investigating the reports.
The situation in the West Bank has worsened considerably since the start of the war between Israel and the Islamist Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, on October 7. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, a total of 187 Palestinians have been killed since then. There are also more reports of violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians. According to the authorities, 383 Palestinians have died in Israeli military operations in the West Bank, confrontations or their own attacks since the beginning of the year. According to human rights activists, this is the highest number in more than 15 years.
The escalating conflicts in the Middle East, particularly between Israel and organizations like Hamas, have led to increased military deployments in regions such as the West Bank. This was evident last night in Tulkarm, where an Israeli army operation resulted in six fatalities and twelve injuries, including four severely wounded individuals.
