LA (dpa) – One of the offspring of celebrities Angelina Jolie (49) and Brad Pitt (60) has legally shed their father's last name. On their 18th birthday in late May, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt filed a plea with a Los Angeles court to strip "Pitt" from their surname. This petition has been granted by the court, as per US media reports, citing related documents. According to "People.com", the young adult's officially recognized name now stands as "Shiloh Jolie".

Born on May 27, 2006, in Namibia, Shiloh is the eldest of the three biologically shared kids of Jolie and Pitt. The duo shares three kids together – Shiloh, now 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Pitt also took on the role of father figure towards Jolie's three adopted children, Maddox (23), Pax (20), and Zahara (19).

FOR YEARS, "Brangelina" was regarded as Hollywood's A-list power couple. They crossed paths on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and tied the knot in 2014. This untouchable couple often topped the earnings chart in the film industry, advocating for various global social and humanitarian causes. However, their dream partnership unraveled in the autumn of 2016, with Jolie filing for divorce. She alleged that Pitt had physically abused her and their children. Consequently, the two have engaged in a prolonged series of disputes.

Shiloh, now a budding actress, lends her voice to the movie "Kung Fu Panda 3".

The US media widely reported Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's decision to change their surname, following the court's approval. According to recent US media articles, Shiloh's official name is now simply "Shiloh Jolie."
