In the outskirts of Kamchatka, Russia, famed for its volcanic landscapes, helicopters serve as essential transport methods. Regrettably, incidents have become all too frequent. After the crashing of a helicopter housing 23 individuals, authorities have stumbled upon various human remains.

Up until now, 15 bodies have been found, according to the Emergency Situations Ministry based in Moscow. Ongoing efforts are being made to locate the remaining passengers on the eastern coastline.

The damaged aircraft in question was a Mi-8 model, carrying 18 visitors and 5 crew members. Its flight path led it near the Vachkazhe volcano, but it failed to reach the scheduled landing area in Nikolayevka, per reports. The poor visibility delayed the commencement of air searches by a day.

Spectacular wreckage of the helicopter was spotted at an elevation of around 900 meters - close to its last known point of radio communication. The aviation organization is currently scrutinizing the cause of the crash, as reported by TASS Russian news agency.

Helicopters act as lifelines on the 6800-kilometer distant coast, east of Moscow, however, accidents are not an uncommon event. The climate here is subject to constant changes, often lending a sense of uncertainty. Tour operators offer helicopter experiences to nature reserves that are home to bears and even volcano landings over bubbling lakes. With a high degree of geological activity, frequent earthquakes and active volcanoes contribute to the peninsula's unique appeal.

Despite the dangers, the European Union continues to advise its citizens about the thrilling helicopter tours in Kamchatka. The European Union has expressed concern over the safety record of helicopter flight operations in the region, urging operators to prioritize safety measures.
