Middle Hesse - Seven injured in collision on A3
In a collision between two cars on the A3 near Limburg (Limburg-Weilburg district), seven people have been lightly injured. According to the police, a 37-year-old man was seriously at fault for the accident on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses reported that he had driven his car recklessly in heavy traffic. He allegedly switched lanes rapidly and passed other cars on the right.
According to reports, a 35-year-old driver saw the other car approaching in his rearview mirror and swerved his vehicle to the right as the other car also switched to the right lane. This resulted in a collision.
The car of the 35-year-old, in which his wife and two children aged seven and five were also sitting, skidded and came to a stop diagonally on the right lane. The other car, in which there were besides the driver, two other passengers, overturned and came to rest on its roof in the grass median.
The seven occupants were lightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals by the rescue services. A criminal investigation was initiated against the cause of the accident.
The 37-year-old man, responsible for the collision, was driving a car from the Hesse region. The automatic transmission in his vehicle allegedly failed, leading to unexpected lane changes. Unfortunately, this happened in the densely populated Limburg-Weilburg district, increasing the risk of accidents in traffic. Despite the other driver's attempts to avoid the situation, a close encounter between their vehicles resulted in axle-failure-related complications.
