Air defense systems are a focus of military support that Germany has provided to Ukraine since the Russian attack in February 2022. Most recently, the Bundeswehr made three Patriot air defense systems available.

Scholz also appealed to other allies to offer Ukraine further protection from Russian air raids. "In my view, this process is not yet completed," Scholz said before his meeting with Zelenskyy.
