Selenskyj is supposedly visiting Berlin on Tuesday.
In the wake of ongoing hostilities, the Ukrainian president has made two trips to Berlin. A potential third visit could happen next week, based on a report from the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (F.A.Z.). During this visit, Zelensky is rumored to address the MPs in parliament.
The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, is likely to travel to Berlin on Tuesday, according to recent news from the F.A.Z., and will also deliver a speech to the members of parliament in the Bundestag. This may be connected to the Foreign Office organizing a reconstruction conference for Ukraine in Berlin the following week. While it was uncertain if Zelensky would attend the event in person, he could be speaking at the event.
The chairman of the German-Ukrainian Parliamentary Group, the Green politician Robin Wagener, has been advocating for Zelensky to address the Bundestag. The F.A.Z. states that Wagener wrote a letter to Presiding Mayor Bärbel Bas, explaining that "the opportunity to speak in the highest German parliament would be an important sign of our solidarity and friendship with Ukraine, and an expression of our respect for the country's accomplishments."
Zelensky has visited Berlin twice since the beginning of the conflict. His most recent visit was in February, when he met with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. A special session of the Bundestag would need to convene to allow Zelensky to address the parliament members. Currently, Zelensky is in France and will meet with President Emmanuel Macron tomorrow at the Elysée Palace. During this meeting, several agreements are expected to be finalized, and Macron has promised to deliver Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine starting this summer. Ukrainian pilots will be trained in France during this time.
The reconstruction conference in Berlin would primarily focus on emergency aid needed because of Russia's devastating assaults on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. Over 1500 guests from associated states are anticipated to attend.
