France - Second dead after shooting at wedding in Lorraine
After the shootings at a wedding reception in France over the weekend, there is a second victim. A person who was seriously injured in the attack in Thionville, Lothringen, has died in the hospital, the Nancy Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday. Two other guests of the wedding who were shot are now out of danger.
While around 100 people were celebrating in a banquet hall in the city near the border with Germany and Luxembourg, three masked and black-clad attackers fired dozens of shots at the guests early on Sunday morning. Members of the Turkish community had celebrated a wedding in the banquet hall. The motives for the shooting are still unknown. A specialized unit of the French police for organized and specialized crime is conducting the investigation.
The victim who passed away was initially from Thionville, Lorraine, in France. The tragic shooting attack occurred during a weekend wedding celebration within the Turkish community in the city. Despite the chaotic situation, the two other wounded guests, also part of the wedding, have managed to recover.
