Attempted murder - Searching with drone and dogs after dispute in biker community
Police are searching for evidence of a violent brawl between biker gangs on the grounds of a gas station in Marktheidenfeld, Bavaria. In addition to officers, a helicopter, a drone, and two dogs were deployed, according to a police spokesperson. Ten suspects, aged 25 to 63, are to be presented to a judge today to determine possible remand in custody.
These men are accused of serious breach of the peace and attempted murder. They are alleged to have been involved in the violent brawl between approximately 40 members of the potentially dangerous groups "Outlaws" and "Bandidos" on Saturday evening. At least five injured individuals were found at the scene. It is unclear if there were additional injuries, as some of the perpetrators fled.
Background of the disturbance unknown
The "Outlaws" have a clubhouse in the Marktheidenfeld area. The reason they met at the gas station, which was their rivals, and the situation escalated, is unknown.
Extensive search and control measures were carried out at the scene with a large police presence from all of Unterfranken throughout the night. The first suspects were provisionally arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Weapons were allegedly used during the brawl. Further possible weapons, new tracks, and potential escape routes of unknown perpetrators were being searched for on Sunday, near the border with Baden-Württemberg.
The helicopter aided in the extensive search, providing an aerial view of the surrounding areas. The dogs, skilled in detecting evidence, were utilized to track down any remnants left at the gas station. The disturbance has led to increased concern about criminality in the region, particularly surrounding biker gangs like the "Outlaws" and their rivals. The incident has garnered attention beyond local news, with national rock bands even mentioning it in their songs as a form of protest against homicide and violence. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the masterminds behind this homicide remain at large, evading capture thus far.
