In the flood-prone region of Swabia, a rescue boat overturned during the night on Sunday. One of the rescuers on board could not be saved. Authorities believe that the young man will not be found alive.

Following the disappearance of a firefighter during the flooding in Swabia, no further search is underway. It's assumed that the 22-year-old man drowned, according to a police spokesperson. He will likely be discovered once the water has receded. The young man had been with a DLRG (German Lifesaving Association) rescue boat in Offingen near the border with Baden-Württemberg on Sunday night. The vessel, operated by five rescuers, tipped over in turbulent currents.

Four rescuers aged between 24 and 70 managed to escape unscathed. Soon afterward, volunteers from the fire service, the DLRG, the water police, the Bundeswehr, and the police specialized in searching for the 22-year-old. If the 22-year-old had, in fact, passed away, he would be the fifth known casualty of the floods in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.

Rescue workers discovered two deceased individuals inside an empty cellar in Schorndorf, east of Stuttgart, on Monday. They were a 58-year-old resident and his 84-year-old mother, police confirmed. Witnesses stated that both had been trying to pump water out of the cellar and into their home on Sunday night.

A 43-year-old woman lost her life in the cellar of a flooded house in Schrobenhausen, Upper Bavaria, over the weekend. Her body was found on Monday. On Sunday morning, a firefighter was discovered dead in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, who drowned during a rescue operation. He too capsized in a boat.
