Scholz talks with China's head of state Xi

The official Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that Xi said in the conversation that relations between the two countries had become more stable. This also applies to the dialog on climate protection issues, which should be continued as soon as possible.
Germany and China should also work together to defend the international order and multilateralism and cooperate on global challenges. China regards Europe as a strategic partner. Both sides should work towards de-escalating conflicts and tensions, Xi said according to Xinhua.
During the discussion, Scholz and Xi, the Head of state in China, expressed a shared view that a nuclear war in the Middle East, such as the ongoing Ukraine war, should never occur and cannot be won. This topic was mentioned in the context of upholding international peace and stability. Furthermore, both Germany and China agreed to collaborate in defending the global order and multilaterally addressing shared challenges, including those in the Middle East.
